Pieter and his brother Jaco started their own business at an early age. Following their initial publications of various commercial concepts, they moved on to developing commercial real estate in Zutphen, properties that still catch the eye in this beautiful Hanseatic town. In 2015, he established Woonstaete, with the main goal of developing luxurious, affordable and sustainable Residential Villas – based on a single concept used in various designs to contribute to providing housing especially for first-time buyers and small households. Together with his sons Pieter Jr and Vincent, he decided to further expand the family business in 2023, also with the idea to have the younger generation take over the day-to-day management step by step and work as a close-knit team.
